To critique means to systematically analyze, evaluate, assess, and examine some work of art or literature. Leadership is the ability to influence other people in a motivational, professional, inspirational, respectful and responsible way to accomplish the vision of an organization. The purpose of this essay is to critique two types of leadership used in our school. This type of essay can help leaders to improve their leadership skills. The essay will critique transformational and transactional leadership styles as being identified as some of the leadership styles used at Maitlamo Junior Secondary School.
TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP

In Maitlamo, teachers are encouraged to produce better results through a set of departmental policies that subordinates should abide by, example coming to work on time, sharing ideas with other colleagues, abiding to the deadlines, professional ethics and values. A resource person was recently brought in the school to workshop teachers on team building. Though a resource person was brought up the school, many teachers did not own the ideas because up to now what was discussed at the workshop has not yet been implemented. This could be because teachers were taught theoretical, abstract ideas that they did not own. Ideas were not brought to them by a resource individual who was neither a teacher nor had an experience in teaching in Maitlamo. Team building and
