student in the department Food, Agriculture, and Resource Economics at the University of Guelph, where I also completed my master’s degree. I have obtained a cumulative average of 86.12% in my graduate coursework and passed the Ph.D. Qualifying exam this past summer, an exam with a 60% fail rate. My dissertation is a progression of my Master’s thesis, titled “Export Orientation and Productivity Growth of Canadian Food Manufacturing” examined the relationship between export orientation (i.e. the participation) and productivity in Canadian food manufacturing, and determines the sources of productivity growth. This research was selected through peer review to be presented at the annual meetings of the Canadian Agricultural Economics Society (2016), and the Food Distribution Research Society (2017). Two papers are currently being drafted on this research to be submitted to peer-reviewed journal
