Truman’s decision to bomb Japan was right for many reasons. One piece of evidence that shows Truman made the right decision is when Japan captured our American troops and kept them as prisoners, they beat and starved them and even went as far as executing them, he talks about this in his radio report to the American people. One piece of evidence that shows Truman made the right decision is that the cost of the war would have cost over a million casualties to American forces alone if they didn't use the bombs and tried and use an intensified sea and air blockade. They were going to use that but then the bombs were invented. "We were planning an intensified sea and air blockade"(Doc B). This shows that he had all the right to just stop this madness and end the war quickly, easily, and fast. He knew that Japan wasn't going to surrender most likey so he was sick of his troops dying for no
