People all around the world know of at least one celebrity who impacts their lives, whether it is by their appearance, actions, or materialistic things. Collin Palmer, college sophomore makes an argument that celebrities are just a source of entertainment fans are fascinated by. On the other hand, Deborah King, author of Truth Heals argues they have a positive and negative influence on people. I disagree with Palmer’s argument that celebrities do not have an effect on our behavior because they reflect upon children, people’s actions, and make a difference in the world.

Changes are made throughout the society we live in by technology, people, or any other sources. Celebrities are one of these sources who have the ability to take action and better the environment of the individuals who are in need of necessities. For instance, Elton John a singer and a songwriter is a sponsor regarding AID research and many other programs which help the world. After witnessing many of his close friends be a victim of this disease, his desire for this project came along. There are many more famous people who are willing to provide for the ones in need allowing us to make it a better place. We tend to imitate their actions and work because they are someone we look up to. In contrast, it interrupts ones self-identity to be presented in their own style. The statement Angelina Jolie makes “All of us would like to believe that if we were in a bad situation, someone would help us” encourages people to donate. If a common person was to say the same, people might not be as motivated to help just because a celebrity did not mention it. The ones who have experienced a loss or gone through a tragedy are more likely to donate than the ones who have not gone through any
