Tuesdays with Morrie is a book about an older man teaching a younger man the biggest and greatest lessons of life. In this book Morris Schwartz (Morrie) teaches Mitch, a fellow student, about lessons on how to live. One day Mitch receives word that Morrie was dying so he finds a way back to his old college professor; then the teaching and learning begins. They cover every topic in which this generation struggles to view and choose to live to the fullest. Morrie mentors Mitch through life and as their relationship grows, Mitch starts to realize that he’s been living life the wrong way. Jesus forgives us even though we don’t deserve it, he gave himself as a living sacrifice for us even though we didn’t deserve it. Ephesians 1:7 says, “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.” If Jesus is able to forgive us then we should be able to do the same to others and ourselves as well. Martha Kilpatrick once said, "We are all on a life long journey and the core of its meaning, the terrible demand of its centrality is forgiving and being forgiven." This book really did teach me life lessons. I realized that there is some much more to life than I even knew. I was able to engage in this book to the point where I felt as if I was talking to Morrie. I got know him and about his life. Tuesdays with Morrie is much more than just an ordinary book, it’s about learning to live life to the fullest and teaches you about some of the most controversial topics this world has to offer us. Morrie covered a wide variety of topics all of which he had small pearls of wisdom to share with us about. As the book progressed I enjoyed it more and more. The best chapters were about money, family, and forgiveness because Morrie made some strong points
