Transcendentalism is a topic generally used throughout stories that have Romanticism. It uses different types of transcendentalism throughout all of the stories that are themed around transcendentalism. They have their own thoughts for what they think is right and ideas to living a fun and a way you want to live your own life. Emerson's “Nature” and Thoreau’s “Civil Disobedience” are good examples of transcendentalism because these texts show people believing in the goodness of people, living a simple life, having a close relationship with nature, and celebrating emotions and imagination. In the text Nature, it uses a lot of transcendentalism describing characteristics in the text. In the text Nature, the author has a close relationship with nature. Emerson states “in the woods too, a man casts off his years, as the snake his slough” (42). You can gain a good relationship with nature to live a simpler life.
