My book is called Home Court it’s by Amar’e Stoudemire. Amar’e is the main character he is the one telling the story and they also call him STAT. Amar’e loves playing sports mostly basketball and skateboarding but, he also loves playing other sports. At the very beginning of the book, he was stressing out because he had a book report due soon and was also being pressured to play basketball. He didn’t really want to play basketball for a team because then, he would have no time for his other favorite sports or other things like homework, but he just didn't know how to tell his friends without letting them down.
The next chapter was Carrie McCandless viewpoint on traveling to see where her older brother Christopher McCandless died. When Carrie was in the helicopter flying to the ominous bus, she could not believe that Chris had backpacked through such terrain and lived off the land for one hundred days. However, she always knew that if Chris put his mind to something, he would always achieve it. Finally, she saw the rundown school bus where her brother had died. She tried to be strong but failed, and wept.

The book “The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates” talks about two young kids that has same name, lives in the same neighborhood, but has different destinies. The author Wes mother Joy was a single mother, as the other Wes mother Mary was a single mother by different circumstances. Also, an essential play roll at the book is that both mothers wants to give their child education and be successful for the future. Both Wes’s are going in the same path of getting into trouble and being rebels. They are acting unreasonably and taking the wrong decisions that would affect them self in the future.
Lockdown by Walter Dean Myers is a novel that will keep you on your toes. Inspiration, courageousness, nervousness, and depression are all the emotions you feel while reading Lockdown. A topic based around someone making a mistake and ending up in jail isn’t easy to digest, but when the prisoner is only fourteen it’s unbelievable. While reading this book it was quite obvious Walter Dean Myers arranged a lot of research for this novel, it was written very well and full of facts. Hearing stories of gang violence, drug abuse, and shootings is a big wake up call for anyone who interprets this novel it reallys make you realize how grateful you should be for what you have.
He has a kind heart and good intentions, but he cannot convey his message properly. Speaks to me: I think the issue of not being able to express thoughts in a proper way is a problem much larger than presented in this book.
