Hello Kristen, thank you for your post, which gives me the chance to think about type 1 diabetes. I agree that when people consider diabetes, they always refer to type 2 diabetes without knowing there is the existence of type 1 diabetes as well. Even though we as health care professionals are aware of the facts of type 1 diabetes, we are still absorbing more knowledge towards the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of type 2 diabetes than type 1 diabetes through the curriculum.
