Within this essay I’m going to discuss the Organizational ethic of the company that I’m currently employed with Tyson Foods. The brand I’m going to discuss is Hillshire brands which was a large company itself that was bought out by Tyson foods in 2014. Organizational ethics are the principals and standards by which businesses operate. They are demonstrated through the acts of fairness, compassion, integrity, honor and responsibility. The key for the companies managers and executives to ensure that all employees understand these ethics.

Tyson’s Food has establish that they are a faith driving organization and in the last years they have institute a Chaplaincy program so their employees and their families have somebody to talk when problems arise in their lives. “When all beliefs and ideas are expressed in the workplace, everyone benefits. Here at Tyson Foods, faith and spiritual commitments are valued and respected”
A. I believe Techfite could be classified as a clan culture. They fit as a clan culture because they seem to care more about their employees than their customers and they give their employees an opportunity to grow as workers and people. The outcome of this culture tends to be a higher job satisfaction but lower objective profit. Endothon, on the other hand, could be classified as a market culture. I think it is appropriate to label them as a market culture because they appear to give more attention to their customers over their employees and they give more value to productivity.

The Fortune 500 company that I chose is Nordstrom. Nordstrom is a major department department store in the United States. On their website under investor relations they have a Code of Business conduct and Ethics and it wasn’t too difficult to find. Their code of business conduct and ethics is 12 pages long. To me that means that this topic is something that is very important to the company and being such a large company I can see why it is.

When going into the field of an Early Childhood Educator there are different values that one should have. In my opinion Early Childhood Educators should have foundation skills of how children learn, should know how to support diverse knowledge, should be able to model the correct language, should have classroom management skills, and should be able to create a safe environment for all children. According to the NAEYC core values Early Childhood Educators should base work on knowledge of how children develop and learn, which goes with my first opinion with Early Childhood educators having the foundation skills of how children learn. If employees are not familiar with the company’s goals and what the company is expect from them they won’t be able to perform good. Successful organizational culture requires a team work. Johnson should establish the espoused values of the company. These are the stated values and norms that are preferred by the company (Kreitner, 2013, p.63). Johnson should set the basic assumption which values employees (Kreitner, 2013, p.65).
The Marine Corps Core Values are Honor, Courage, and Commitment these are the cells that make the marrow that's in the bones of the Marine Corps. They’re more than just a guideline on how to conduct yourself as a marine on and off duty, their a way of life. From day one of recruit training until our twentieth year in service we are expected to live by and constantly exercise these three values. With Honor you are meant to be loyal to the corps and all of its beliefs. With Courage you are expected to live up and beyond your potential to grow learn and test your limits.
Like most companies, Tyson Foods is not invulnerable to threats from other companies or external elements that the company can’t control. The company has not been able to tackle the challenges present by the new entrants in the segment and has lost small market share in the niche categories. Tyson Foods has to build internal feedback mechanism directly from sales team on ground to counter these challenges. Financial planning is done improperly and inefficiently. The current asset ratio and liquid asset ratios suggest that the company can use the cash more efficiently than what it is doing at present.
Scenario One Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a new concept that has been integrated into the operations models of many organizations. It is an ethical mandate that requires a corporation to establish initiatives that reflect on specific social and environmental wellbeing. All efforts are supposed to go beyond any provided regulation. Wholesome Hamburger Company’s ethical challenge is related to its failure to observe tenets of corporate social responsibility, especially that of sustaining the environment. Corporate culture is heavily dependent on the values and vision of the entrepreneur. It is very much related to the vision and mission statements of a company in how the company wants to be perceived by its stakeholders and how the company wants to achieve its visions. The entrepreneur is the one responsible in how the company conducts itself and therefore is the one responsible in setting the culture of the business. The behavior, actions, and interactions of the members of an organization emerge from the meaning that the reality of that organization has for them. Therefore, a good corporate culture is essential to creating a healthy and thriving workplace, where the workers an inspired to work for the good of the company.
The Importance of a Company’s Culture The culture of a company is one of the most important and sometimes overlooked factors in an organization. The culture can increase employee engagement and increase productivity which will allow a company to reach its goals, “From productivity and engagement in the organization’s day-to-day, to an employer brand that naturally fuels recruiting efforts, to creating a lasting brand that customers immediately recognize, there’s no escaping it – culture radiates outward into the marketplace” (Straz 2015). The culture can have a great impact on the employees. Employees thrive in a positive working environment and the ability to engage with their managers without fear of retaliation.
