This prolonged war impacted the lives of millions of Americans; because many men in the United States were drafted into the varies branches of the military. Hundreds of thousands of U.S. soldiers were wounded, distressed, and thousands lost their lives during this conflict. The war began in 1955 and ended in 1975. The Vietnam War took place in Vietnam and reached the borders of Laos and Cambodia. The Vietnam War was also known as Second Indochina War.
