Aaron Sedrick is a senior at Joplin High School. He has made it his goal to graduate in the top 10% of his class with Honors. This ambitious goal is only a reflection of his dedication that permeates through the rest of his life, from waking up every morning at 5:20 am to get ready for LDS Seminary, to taking some of the most difficult courses his school offers. He attributes his ambition and dedication to his father, who started medical school just as he began kindergarten. This gave him the unique perspective of watching someone much older than him go through similar experiences and then succeed.
My father is a doctor and my mother is a teacher and they are very much in love. My parents had been married for two years when the had decided they wanted to come to Miami. They thought it very long and hard when making the decision. But they wanted growth and a place to start a family. So Dominigo Reyes (father) spoke to his wife Ileana Reyes (mother) and explained how he could study for his boards and become a doctor in the United States.

I want to return to MD Anderson Cancer Center, because it counts with a variety of physician scientists and physicians that integrate their clinical work with innovating research and this will improve my development as a future physician and researcher. Being able to do research in my area of interest and having the experience of a clinical rotation in pediatric oncology help me diced that I want to become an MD. My actual professional goal is to be a pediatric physician specialized in oncology, orthopedic surgery

Robert J. Sternberg is a professor of Psychology and vice president at Oklahoma State University. Sternberg states, “To act ethical, individuals must go through a series of steps”. He presupposes teaching these 8 steps is just as important as teaching students how to pass a test. Numerous of dilemmas proceeding in establishments are not generated the by absences of knowledge, but because of the lack of ethics. My “patience room studying” continued for another ten minutes before a nurse came out of the room calling my name. My father put down the newspaper he was reading and pointed to me and she managed to spot us from the large crowd that was present, we got up and followed her and she directed us to a room with a plaque posted front and centre on the door, reading “Dr. Hoffman, Neurology” . My father and I sat in the empty room and waited I told him I was nervous that something might be wrong and he replied “khoda nakoneh”, Farsi for god forbid. Five minutes passed and then a woman quickly walked in and closed the door behind her. It was Dr.Hoffman.

In fact, I believe the reason behind my high academic achievement was not natural ability; rather, I always made sure that I was not over-confident of my abilities and prepared to do extra work to insure my success. I even came up with a saying to motivate myself: “Work hard enough so that it is impossible to fail.” This philosophy has allowed me to take stressful situations in stride. One such situation was raising my grade in Molecular Biology from a D to an A-. Thus, I feel that I would be of great use to the practice of medicine as I am no stranger to arduous
So far, my life has been full of change. I was born in, India, and moved around for many of the early years of my life. I went from, Toronto, Dayton, Cincinnati, Wheaton, and finally, Elk Grove Village, in a six-year span of my life. These formative years were great for me because my parents always pushed me to do my best. Academically, I was pushed into performing the best I could such as trying my best in English class even though it was a struggle in the beginning.
Such disgrace has allowed for my persona as an intelligent, goal-oriented, and indeed hardworking Mexican-American to evolve. The idea of leaving for college, an idea I was never exposed to and always seemed too far fetched, thankfully has come to light through my dedication to pursue a medical degree. Not only do I want to change the perception of Mexican-Americans’ in this country, I will persevere in assisting those in war-torn countries. Unfortunately, thousands of people have no other option but death due to the lack of medical assistance. Pursuing the ultimate American Dream with the knowledge that many young children are denied the opportunity, for instance, my mother, cia, who due to the lack of resources failed to pursue a nursing degree, has encouraged many Latino-Americans.

For the majority of people, pursuing a career in the medical field is a career which should be avoided at all costs. Whether this profession is a surgeon, a nurse, or a psychiatrist, the long hours of study and work (which are necessary for these occupations), are not in most people’s definition of a “fun job.” In addition, after the long years of study come to an end, the most feared moments arise, the time to pay student loans. Nevertheless, none of these obstacles intimidated Juan Delgado in order to pursue his dream as a healthcare professional, more importantly, to help our community. Delgado, the oldest of two, was born on December 3rd,1991.
