b) The USA strategies
1. Reduce emissions
In order to effectively address global warming, the amount of GHG emissions must be significantly reduced.
One most important strategy is to expand the use of renewable energy and transform the energy system that emits GHGs to cleaner one - the EPA is developing new power plant carbon standards that will reduce carbon emissions from existing power plants. Also, by increasing vehicle fuel efficiency, placing limits on the amount of carbon that polluters are allowed to emit, and building a clean energy economy by investing in efficient energy technologies, industries, and approaches could jump-start this transition without delay and maximize the benefits to the USA environment and economy simultaneously …show more content…

The tides are reaching higher, and tidal flooding is expanding because sea levels are rising, and sea levels are rising faster as global warming heats up the planet. Hotter temperatures are melting glaciers and ice sheets into the sea, even while global warming is heating up the ocean itself. The ocean is getting warmer and bigger, while more frequent and severe heat waves, growing wildfire risks in the mid-west area of the USA. Species include human beings are under threatened. Although there are many different legislative proposals for substantial reductions in carbon dioxide emissions, there is no operational or tested suite of technologies that can accomplish the goals of such legislation (Cato Institute, …show more content…

In the long-run, GHG emissions from energy supply need to go down towards zero. Advances in performance and cost have made renewable energy a fasting-growing category in energy supply. Carbon dioxide capture and storage could be used to reduce emissions in fossil fuel power plants. The technology could be important for ambitious mitigation targets but it is not yet been demonstrated at large scale. In the transport sector, the development of engines with low or no emissions and use of new energy sources for transport already
