During the civil war, there were many books about anti-slavery but this one really had an effect on a lot of people. "Uncle Tom's Cabin" had many effects on families, also on readers. There were many readers why it had an effect on so many people. Stowe understood America's past time really well. Stowe was married in the year of 1836. Stowe wrote the book to end slavery. She also hoped that the book would bring peace and hope to everybody. She wrote the book in the year of 1852. The book was the best seller for a long time. The book also help the readers empathize With the enslaved characters that were in the book. Abraham Lincon greeted Stowe asking, " So you're the little women who wrote the book that started this great war."

By the fall, Britain had one-hundred fifty thousand copies made and sold. In just ne year in Britain, 1.5 million British copies were sold because of the people wanting equality. She was so famous almost about two-thousand people in Glasgow gathered to sing about Stowe and her book. Anti-slavery groups really liked Stowe and her book that they showered her with money and gifts for herself because her book touched many people and was in the process of ending slavery. The book helped drive many slaves to be against slavery and be brave. There were ten versions of her book on stage in London. "Uncle Tom's Cabin" influenced many people and readers to be against slavery and to stand up for who they are and want equality.
