In 2005 a tragedy struck my hometown of Cameron Wisconsin. Following the annual homecoming parade, the high schoolers were driving back to the school to cheer on the football team for the game that night. Sitting on the toolboxes in one of the trucks was Bailey Zimmerman and her good friend Jasmyn Becker. As their driver, Matthew Stoyke, was making the turn into the parking lot, he saw a bunch of his friends already waiting for him. Look at the rest of the country, the majority of them have raised their drinking age to 19. Should the legal drinking age in Manitoba be raised? The drinking age should be lowered because young adults can make their own decisions and it isn't harmful to other people as long as in a controlled environment. Also can keep kids from doing other more harmful drugs. First of all, drinking at 18 can lead young adults to not do other harmful drugs and teach responsible drinking habits.
You can also lose your job from drinking and driving. Some bosses might think you're irresponsible and fire you. This can also lead up to future jobs. When you apply for a job and they check your record, their going to see you were in a drinking and driving crash and might not hire you if it’s a really bad crash. It's also going to be hard for you to apply and go to work since you lost your license, therefore you can't drive there.
Responsibility is one of the keywords to remember when consuming alcohol. Anything could happen when you 're under the influence, death, rape, and many more life-altering occurrences. One huge potential life-altering thing that could happen to you is brain damage. Drinking at a younger age increases the risk of brain damage. Despite the strict sanctions placed to curb it, drunk driving continues to be an unwavering predicament in most states. The number of offenders taken to custody by the police is rising by the day; with matters being made worse by the escalating number of underage drinkers. Many solutions have been put forth in an effort to reduce drunk driving and consequently reduce the number of road carnages. The persistence of the problem however calls for improved solutions. Teens and drinking have been an issue for some time and it continues to persist, attracting many young individuals. Whether it’s the pleasure or the ability to forget problems drinking as a teen has become a problem in society with many alcohol related issues. However, that sensation of being able to forget problems soon enters a cycle of many other issues such as consequences to the physical development and to the body itself, which is not able to handle the alcohol properly. In addition, soon the early admission of the depressant becomes and an addictive factor which can lead to alcoholism since the body constantly craves the substance. Teens and drinking has continued to progress over the years and the depressant has consumed many lives.
