Unit 4: Impact of the use of IT on business systems
Bradfield would want to upgrade the software in IT system to allow employees to progress and develop their work whilst using latest programs. Upgrading the system would allow the computer to run with high quality and would increase the speed of the computer.
Quality of work
As a manager at Bradfield, it is important that employees produce quality work for the organisation. Having it upgraded would increase the speed which would allow the computers to run faster than before. It clearly show a good sign to the employees as money is spent on them.
Viruses

For example, business like Asda use e-commerce which allows customers to shop online. The advantage of using e-commerce is that you are allowed to create your own website and sell products online.
Upgrading IT development
It is important that you are aware of your customers because you should always keep your customers happy. For example, if the organisation can deliver products to their customers within a short amount of time, then the customer would be satisfied with the business. Customers would recommend other to shop from the business as this may increase the number of customers.
The reason it’s important to upgrade is that it allows the business to track down the products that are selling that best. The business could bring vouchers and coupons to make the customer feel good. Another reason to upgrade IT is that it allows you to take control of the orders process. This would allow the items to be delivered on time.
Increased profitability
Organisation had developed in IT by being able to produce products by machinery. The advantages of this is that the quality of the product is better than handmade, and the profits may have risen.

The reason for this is that staff would need to have IT skills which would allow them to use word processing and spread sheets. Staff which are employed are less administrators to their job role.
Impact of cost
As an IT manager, cost will have a massive impact on upgrading the system in IT because if the company does not have enough money to invest, then the company would not be able to upgrade the latest development in an organisation. Every organisation would have a budget on how much to spend. However, upgrading the IT system could mean a lot of money would need to be spend.
Legacy system
Another impact is legacy system because as you introduce latest technology, the existing system would be redundant. The reason for this is that it would not be compatible with the latest version of the update. If the business wants to beat their opposition, then they would need replace the latest technology as they would be able to support their business practise. The disadvantage of this is that you might need the current version to be out of service for a period of time.
It is important for Bradfield to keep a pace with their IT development because it is important they stay ahead of their competitors. This is the reason Bradfield made the step with IT
