All parents face the question of whether or not they should vaccinate their child. Parents who opt against vaccination do not realize the grave consequences of the decision. Vaccinations have a sturdy record with positive results dominating the negative results. Many people, other than just the person getting vaccinated, benefit from the vaccination. People are mainly against vaccination because they have uncertainties about its safety, but that is unreasonable because vaccinations are very safe. The choice for vaccinations is the smart one and should be what every person selects.
Statistics and the past show mostly the positive effects of vaccinations. The chance of a vaccination not being effective is extremely slim since 90-99% work. …show more content…

Many of the diseases that vaccinations can prevent are spread by people. If most people are vaccinated, the spreading of diseases and outbreaks would be uncommon (CDC, pars. 6-7).
Groups such as the elderly, infants, pregnant women, and people unable to receive vaccinations are some people who would benefit from other’s vaccinations since they are the most susceptible to diseases (Immunize for Good, par. 5). Both lives and expenses are saved by vaccinations. Treating a disease that is vaccine-preventable is a lot more costly than a vaccination (Immunize for Good, par 10). Contrary to some people’s beliefs, vaccinations are actually very safe. It is true that they contain deadly ingredients, but not even close to enough to actually be lethal. One of these ingredients, aluminum, is greater in breast milk and infant formula than in vaccines (ProCon, chart). Vaccines are tested thoroughly and monitored constantly. The Food and Drug Administration and many other major medical groups confirm the safety of vaccines (Immunize for Good, pars. 11-13).
