“Fetal Tissue Fallout, R. Alta Charo, J.D., September 3, 2015” In this article R. Alta Charo states that we have a right to use fetal tissue for research and therapy (Fetal Tissue, 1) The article goes into how a lot of people find this to be a moral issue and a matter of the conscience and explains how the antiabortion activist that don’t agree with the research are actually benefitting from the fetal tissue. They argue that the research supports abortions but have taken part in receiving vaccines and therapy that comes from the research. R. Alta Charo begins by talking about the argument over the antiabortionist activist who pretended to be a research company representative and gave out false, edited information from a Planned Parenthood video that goes over the services they provide.
In his book, Deadly Choices: How the Anti-Vaccine Movement Threatens Us All, Paul A. Offit, M.D. presents us with a thoroughly in-depth look behind the veil of the vaccine controversy. Specifically here in the United States. Offit starts us off with the history of vaccinations giving insights into not just their creation but the controversy that has surrounded them since the beginning. We learn how these questions around safety and personal rights started and who have been the major decision makers in history. We hear about the groups and people that support vaccinations and those that do not.
There are many sensitive polarized viewpoints regarding the abortion debate. According to “How an Anonymous Spy with a Video Camera Infiltrated Planned Parenthood and Reignited the Abortion Debate” written by Alex Altman, David Daleiden had an interest in the abortion debate from a young age. In junior high Daleiden joined his first anti-abortion group, then continued his interest throughout college. He also formed his own anti-abortion group Live Action, which is known for secretly videotaping Planned Parenthood breaking the law. Daleiden stated, “It exposes the truth in a way that doesn’t rely on media outlets to report it.”
Part A: In today’s society there are many mixed feelings about abortion, many are pro for it and many are against it, some of the actions for this are because of their religion, social opinions, and political view on this situation. Firstly, religion, there are many different perspectives for each religion. Especially on harsh topics such as abortion. Such as Buddhism, which allows for abortion in certain circumstances such as if the child will be born retarded or if it will be too difficult for the parents later on when the child is born.

What about abortion gets people so mad and tense? Abortion has two major points of view on the topic, pro-choice and pro-life. Someone on the side of pro-choice would argue that it is the choice of the mother and no one not even the government should have control over that. A pro-life supporter would argue that from the moment of conception the fetus is alive and therefore the abortion is considered murder. It is very important to look at the topic from both sides to fully understand why the topic has been stressed over for so long.
The definition of abortion is the termination of a pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. A woman who decides to have an abortion, may have many different and personal reasons to have one. Abortion is a big controversy on whether it should be legal or not. One side, Pro-Life, believes abortion should be illegal because it is a crime of not giving a child a well-deserved life. Since a baby is said to be a God’s gift often, people think it is going against God by doing this.
Abortion in America is a controversial issue in which both sides have valid arguments. The right to life is the most basic and important right that humans have. For instance, how would a person feel if someone else took away his or her ability to live? One would think it’s considered to be murder. Whether it be a woman taking the Plan B pill right after she has conceived (unwillingly or consensually) or waiting until she hits her second trimester to decide to have a partial birth abortion ,undergoing a D&X procedure.
The nature of the abortion topic means that all levels of the US Government have been forced to entertain the issue; the Supreme Court checked in on laws regulating abortion, Presidential candidates use it as an election manifesto, and Legislators have passed laws setting restrictions for the practice. The judicial branch has said that laws occluding abortion are prosecutable. In the case Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court said that any state laws desisting abortion violated the right to due process. The Supreme Court concluded in Roe v. Wade that the U.S. Constitution protects a woman’s accord to extinguish her pregnancy.
Abortion is a huge argument in the world today. “In 1973 the U.S. Supreme Court held in Roe V.Wade that the right of privacy protects women’s decisions to end unwanted pregnancy before the fetus develops.” By 2013, 70 restrictions to curb the practice of abortion from 22 states. (Funk & Wagnalls pg.1). In 2014, five health votes were examined by the House of Representatives regarding the matter of abortion.
Pro-choice advocates have phrased their counterargument this way, “A fetus is not yet a human being. It is nothing but a clump of cells with the potential to become a human being. It is ‘alive’ but that is also true of all the other cells in a woman’s body. It has no life of its own yet. It is not yet a separate life from the life of the woman in whose uterus it is.”
Abortion has caused a great deal of controversy in the world, especially the United States, because everyone sees life in different eyes. The two sides of this subject will never agree will the other because they only are focused on what they have to say about the matter than on the points the other side has made. This issue will continue because abortion appears to be advancing as the years go by, which is a sign of no extinction. Since the abortion debate will not cease, the effects of the contradicting sides will only developed stronger arguments to belittle the others opinions about the
One of the furthermost essential issues in biomedical ethics is the controversy around abortion. There’s a long history on this controversy and it is still critically debated among researchers and the public in both terms of morality and legality. Some of the basic questions argued that may perhaps characterize the importance of the issue: Is abortion morally justifiable? Does the foetus/embryo/zygote have any moral and legal rights? Abortion is much more than a question of how religious you truly are, but rather how much you value morality and life. From a moral standpoint, there is no explanation to why abortion should be legal and supported. Morality is mostly objective and there is a baseline for cultures all around the world, rape is bad, theft is bad, murder is bad, except when it’s an embryo or baby. But to even talk about that we need to know why abortion is horrible. Abortions normally happen during the first trimester which is conception to 13 weeks old.
