Revelation, by Flannery O’Connor is a short story where the main character includes the self righteous character named Ruby Turpin. Revelation represents violence and Mrs.Turpin is the stories character who suffers from this. One day while Mrs.Turpin waits in the doctor's waiting room amongst others, a young girl by the name of Mary Grace, gives Ruby the verbal threat of telling her to go back to hell where she came from and calling her an old wart hog. Hurt by this, Ruby decides to leave. Later on throughout the day, her anger escalates from Mary Grace to now being angry at God.

Cyril drowned in a lake Vera maliciously gave him permission to swim in and she is clearly still very scarred from the incident. While it might seem that she is reacting harshly to being falsely accused in actuality she is reacting negatively to the guilt she feels when reminded of what she did. Eventually we are given some insight into her memories of Cyril's death when she thinks, “Cyril had disappeared long before [Vera] got near the rock. She had felt the current take her, sweeping her out to sea. She had let herself go with it-swimming quietly until the boat arrived at last…”

In World War One dropping bombs was unprecise, and the barely hit the mark, in World War Two however dropping bombs could be done more precisely. It is the same with communication and war crafts. The biggest difference between World War One and World War Two was the technological advancements in weaponry, communication, and aerial and naval war crafts.
Blore and Vera, because they were both guilty prior to their sentencing, but lied to get out of punishment, meaning they should have been prosecuted beforehand, regardless. Justice Wargrave’s enforced plans against Vera Claythorne are justified, because Vera is a criminal who killed an innocent child, and then lied her way out of execution. Despite Vera’s appearance as a straight-lighthearted girl, Vera was absolutely deserving of punishment, due to her criminal actions against a warm hearted boy she once looked after, Cyril Hamilton. Cyril’s uncle and Vera’s ex lover, Hugo Hamilton, was entitled to a hefty inheritance, but when Cyril was born, Cyril was entitled to the money instead. This meant that Hugo would not receive the money he needed to financially support Vera.

Towards the end of “The Adventure of the Speckled Band”, by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Dr. Roylott croaked after being bitten by his venomous pet snake. Sherlock Holmes was not responsible for Roylott’s death as he was hired to protect Helen Stoner. Additionally, it came as a priority for Sherlock Holmes to defend himself from the virulent swamp adder. Moreover, Sherlock Holmes had no way of knowing that Dr. Roylott would be bitten by the Ophidian.

Vera does not wants to be associated with her husband. She corrects people when they call her by her last name in the quote above she corrects McMurphy when he calls her Mrs. Harding.
When Vera is told about the loss of someone she knew and loved in the war, the viewers put themselves in her place, feeling grief and fear. A personal narrative draws increased emotion from those watching. This certain first person narrative is unique because Vera is not directly involved in the fighting, but instead receiving information from home. This creates a fearful unknowing and uncertainty for Vera, which translates to those watching. Throughout the film, Vera is updated on the war newspapers and by word of mouth.
