In Eric Schlosser‘s essays, the author shows how the social media are targeting children by their ads and advertisements. He exposes the negative side of advertising especially when children are implicated. The author explores children’s cooperation with these companies whether consciously or unconsciously through their behavior and ways of convincing their parents to get them what they want. He mentions how these same parents by lack of spending enough time with kids pamper them and don’t refuse their desires. Schlosser gives more explanations by introducing several examples of these companies such as Disney, McDonald, clothes, oil, and phone companies, too without openly blaming neither of them.
Verizon’s CSR shows the strategy dimension of ‘high centrality’ (Burke and Logsdon 1996). It can be found that some of Verizon’s CSRs are targeted to improve the environment, which includes reducing the carbon footprint, helping customers reduce their energy use and environmental impact and so forth (Verizon 2015). In the world today, people are more focused on their cell phones and other technology than the world outside of them. Technology has given us many new things to make things in life much easier. A cell phone allows for people to contact others from almost anywhere in the world. This is something people would have never thought would be possible. Although cell phones are very nice they can distract people from the world around them and the things it has to offer.
The plague is usually treated by strong and effective antibiotics, intravenous fluids, oxygen, and sometimes breathing support. People who come into contact with patients with the Pneumonic Plague are usually given a short course of weak antibiotics as a safety measure. SOMETIME OLD WAYS ARE NOT THE BEST WAYS! Sometimes people use television to forget about a hard time at work, others using phones in public, causing lack of communication with people nearby. “Little by little, technology has become an integral part of the way that people communicate with one another and has increasingly taken the place of face-to-face communication. Due to the rapid expansion of technology, many individuals fear that people may be too immersed in this digital world and not present enough in the real world,”. People, especially in the United States, spend so much time on the internet they get separated from their real life and don't know what’s going on around them. Carr revealed how smartphones delude people with just the mere presence of them when he stated: “Smartphones have become so entangled with our existence that, even when we’re not peering or pawning at them, they tug at our attention.” He used descriptive words such as entangled and pawning to emphasize that our smartphones draw our attention away even when you’re not using it. “Your new phone, like your old one will become your constant companion and trusty factotum- your teacher, secretary, confessor, guru. The two of you will be inseparable,” Carr included the word “factotum” to depict how your smartphone does all kinds of tasks and acts as if it was a real person or your friend for life. “Imagine combining a mailbox, a newspaper, a TV, a radio, a photo album, a public library and a boisterous party attended by everyone you know, and then compressing them all into a single, small, radiant object,” Carr illustrated how your smartphone is literally an all in one in a small handy form.

In order to achieve that success, the Paramount executives should describe a launch strategy clearly before introduced to commercialize its new design of Clean Edge in the market (Hultink et al., 1997). According to this point, I agree that choosing of the best strategy for any product will be the source of competitive advantage in the future.
