Mission & Vision. The Oho Christian University Mission Statements states, “Oho Christian University prepares students to serve effectively in the church and society by providing a holistic, Christ-centered, biblically integrated education in the Wesleyan tradition (“OCU”, 2017).” Although, the mission statement is a wonderful goal, as a prospective student it may be difficult to understand and digest the meaning until they become a student. The OCU vision is to prepare Christian servant leaders that will impact the world in a meaningful way (“OCU”, 2017).

The company that I am doing is CVS Health. I chose CVS Health because it is the seventh company in the Fortune 500 list. It is also a widely known company and is the most widely used pharmaceutical company in the US. CVS Health is in the Drug Retail Industry. Major competitors of CVS Health are Humana Inc, Walgreens, and Pharmerica Corporation.
Howard University is a predominantly black school, expressing excellence, leadership, truth and service I could contribute to the legacy of Howard University in many ways. Growing up I've always wanted to gain the experience of a historically black college or university. As a member of the National Beta Club we promote the ideals of academic achievement and leadership. Being apart of the National Beta Club caused me to strive for my goals and take leadership in all that I do. The mission statement states "To promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students."
I currently work at St. Elizabeth hospital in Edgewood, Kentucky as a nursing assistant on a medical surgical floor. A mission statement is a phrase that summarizes what a company does and why. This statement helps the organization’s employees to see the focus of the organization and shows how their work can contribute to the organizations goals and values (Marquis & Huston, 2015). Our mission statement at St. Elizabeth is “As a Catholic healthcare ministry, we provide comprehensive and compassionate care that improves the health of the people we serve” (“St. Elizabeth Healthcare,” n.d.). As an employee at St. Elizabeth I look at our mission statement and understand that as an organization we strive to provide the holistic care to the patients that walk through our doors each day.
The mission of the Dupage Medical Group (DMG) is to enhance the physical well-being of the patients we serve by continuing to provide the highest quality medical care available. Based on the text by Ginter, Duncan & Swayne (2013) I believe the above mission statement meets some of the requirements to be considered an effective mission statement.

The company is known as the largest telecommunication service provider in the United State, with over 140 million subscribers. In order to keep being the largest subscriber and the best network, Verizon adhere to its mission statement, Vision and objective which it regularly update due to the ever changing wireless business and competition in the wireless field. The Business Model the company practices that has led to its success in the wireless sector, which consist of Voice, data, video communication products and service, cloud service and local and long distance voice services.

Because of the strike, the company’s FiOS broadband service and landline businesses are affected. The strike came about after the workers have gone without a contract since August of last year. The Communication Workers of America, which is the union that is representing these workers, have been trying to get Verizon to provide a better labor agreement.

In addition, it outlines its prioritization in respect, accountability, performance excellence, and the trust built around relationships with stakeholders, community, and customers (Verizon - Code of Conduct, 2017). As a result, their teams focus on their code of conduct allows the company’s profits to flourish and to provide a reliable service. Thus, for a company in the communications industry, the customers expect a unique experience where they operate with a high standard of ethics for customer satisfaction.
The mission of SCIF is to restore the injured worker by providing fairly priced workers’ compensation insurance. Additionally, SCIF’s vision is to become an industry leader and offer the best value service. The explicitly stated values that drive the mission are: honesty, integrity, accountability, adaptability, and collaboration. Of these five values, certain values have more importance to achieving the mission. For example, adaptability and collaboration are more necessary to quality improvement at SCIF.

View Park Prep. High School is my former organization; their mission statement is to prepare all students to attend and compete at the top 100 colleges and universities in the nation. View Park falls short of their mission statement because most of their teachers lack certain learning and development needs. According to Learning Forward, "effective professional development enables educators to develop the knowledge and skills they need to address student's learning challenges. Professional development is not effective unless it causes teachers to improve their instruction or causes administrators to become better school leaders" (Mizell, 2010).
Modern Generations People in today’s modern society focus more on social media and technology, as the world is advancing. People are relating to the present more and more. It seems as if there is no privacy and that the world is just becoming more hard to connect with our surroundings. The question is not why this is happening, but how is it happening. Society demands a kind of black and white world because it fears the color in between.
