The mission of SCIF is to restore the injured worker by providing fairly priced workers’ compensation insurance. Additionally, SCIF’s vision is to become an industry leader and offer the best value service. The explicitly stated values that drive the mission are: honesty, integrity, accountability, adaptability, and collaboration. Of these five values, certain values have more importance to achieving the mission. For example, adaptability and collaboration are more necessary to quality improvement at SCIF. This is due to the need for employees to adapt and collaborate to implement the quality improvement processes. Additionally, the SCIF employees have to embody honesty, integrity, and accountability because of the amount of sensitive information available to them.
