The media and other political figures speak a great deal on this matter, and they have a tremendous influence on America’s interpretation of the incidents. In “The Cross Blue Line; Lexington”, some police departments blame Obama for calumniations opposing law enforcement and a war against police. Political figures like the president have a major impact on how the American society reacts to issues. Even though Obama appears to villainize police officers, he spoke in favor of the police department when an African American man murdered Goforth, a sheriff’s deputy, while Goforth was pumping gas into his patrol car(“The Cross Blue Line; Lexington). Furthermore, the media also plays a major role in the reactions of the citizens.

In high school I never had many extreme cases of “doing school” but I had a close friend who ended up becoming mentally ill by senior year from all the pressure he was putting on himself. He possessed many of the traits that I saw in the students from Pope’s book Doing School. He seemed to embody Pope’s main argument of how the school systems have the wrong focus and send the wrong message to their students . Through our high school career I observed the persistence of Eve, the drive for pursuing the arts of Michelle, and later the carelessness of Kevin develop in my friend. Ever since I met Isaiah he had a strong drive for his academics.

This allowed him to pay less to manufacture steel and increase his profits. To ship his steel at a lower cost, he purchased railroads. Vertical integration: a system of related businesses in which a parent company owns its suppliers

For this to happen, both businesses should be operating in the same business arena (Davis, 2008). For Davis, this horizontal growth happened by pairing their existing textile maintenance company, Sunlight, with the newly acquired Berendsen, a textile service company (Davis, 2008). This gives benefits to the overall business by providing a larger customer base and enabling economies of scale and sharing sharing costs, thus making the business more profitable (Davis, 2008). For European Union (EU) markets, horizontal growth is made more simple by having a shared main language (English), shared currency (Euro), cultural similarities, and legal similarities (international standards) (Davis, 2008). All of these
