As for verbal communication, a veterinary technician should be excellent both at speaking and listening. The job specifics include answering around a hundred of questions a day. Specifically, a veterinary technician should give numerous answers to clients, as well as give directions regarding pet care. As Robert Kehn, the author of “Veterinary Office Practices” points out, “clients will ask you the very questions that you have just finished explaining in your directions. Other times you may feel clients’ questions are irrelevant, unnecessary or a waste of precious time.
Trying to decide what career or job choice you want for your future is a tough decision to make. One day you might want to become a nurse, and the next day, you will want to become a veterinary technician. This is the situation that I went through in the past year, and all I can say is that going to school to become a veterinary technician was the best decision I have ever made regarding my future. I am excited and more ambitious toward my career than I ever have been, and I’m here to tell you why becoming a veterinary technician is an amazing choice to make!
Being able to patiently educate others is also important because veterinary techs must counsel and train animal owners how to properly care for their pets. Similar to medical positions, excellent attention to detail will be needed for accurately recording data, performing diagnostic tests and administering medication to animals. Veterinary techs must feel naturally compassionate towards sick pets and worried owners, but they must be able to stay emotionally strong and make difficult decisions, such as putting an injured animal to sleep. Prerequisites Students should be prepared to meet the
Veterinary Technician When trying to decide on a career path, a veterinary technician is a good choice for those who enjoy working with animals. There are many areas available to a veterinarian technician such as working in research laboratories, zoo research as well as in wildlife.
Honestly, I have never planned on going to college in my life. When I get out of school I have a business waiting on me. My father’s occupation is a cowboy, he works cows in all four states (Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma) and even out of the four states sometimes. I’ve been working cows with my dad since I was 4 years old. It is an occupation I am very educated in.
The History of the Veterinary Technician Career A Veterinary Technician is an animal care specialist who assists veterinarians in caring for animals and improving their overall health. The Veterinary Technician career is newer than others in the United States. Even though it is newer, it has come a long way from when it started. I want to become a Veterinary Tech because I love animals and I love taking care of them. I’m a people person and I enjoy working with the public. Recently, I moved into a neighborhood with a lot of elderly neighbors; I started helping them take care of their dogs. I would get up in the morning and walk their dogs before I left for school.
Although I going to strive to become an Equine dentist, sometimes things get in the way of life and you need to re-route yourself. If life just so happens to get in my way and interfere with me becoming an Equine dentist i have two backup careers. My first one is being a Horse breeder, and my second one is being a Vet tech. I chose theses two careers as my backup plan because most of the college prerequisites and other course work are the same, and because it still has my passion in it, animals. The first career I am going to talk about is Vet tech.
Veterinary Technician Veterinary Technicians are the people who check your animal 's weight and look to see if there are any visual problems with them when bringing them to the Veterinarian office. I chose this career because I have always been a huge fan of all kinds of animals. I wasn’t aloud to have animals when I was younger so I became more interested in them.
CTE helped me realize what I wanted to do in life. I was not sure if I wanted to peruse a career as a teacher or as a veterinarian, two very different career clusters. Therefore, I decided to take both of these courses to see which one I was interested in the most. CTE helped me realize that I enjoyed working with children. Therefore, CTE created a clear path for my future as a teacher.
Career Paper I have always loved animals and working with them, but I would like to be able to help them when they are sick or injured. Although I love almost every animal, my goal would be to become an Equine Veterinarian. I have grown up loving horses as my mom would say, "When you were little you always wanted to be around horses, and when you couldn't be you were reading about them" (Rogers,D). My interest in becoming a Veterinarian really came full circle when I was asked to care for and bandage my neighbor's horse who had wounded her leg shortly before they planned to go on vacation in Mexico. It was my first real experience caring for a horse who had a serious injury, and watching her heal and being a part of that was eye opening.
However, if it is something you are very passionate about and and you are willing to put the work in for, it can be a very rewarding career. If one is not a fan of a routine day and enjoy a job where one is met with new challenges each day, then a marine veterinarian is the perfect career. Just make sure you are not afraid to get your feet a little
Which you can start and end your shift whenever you want. I love animals and it’s a thrill to help out animals any way I can when you are a vet, but also exhausting if you are not used to seeing blood everyday or making incisions to open up the animal. I feel like I wouldn’t be used to all this and it can sometimes creep me out or disgust me, I bet I would loose my appetite to eat. Good thing this is my least likely job I had to pick between these 3 careers.
The major I choose to study within the biology field is pre- veterinarian, even though I don’t look like I can be interested in animals, I am truly fascinated in animal biology and I have the love for animals. I look up to some of the veterinarians I see on television because some of their drives surprises me. I want to be that
