Awareness of how many kids are in foster care and how many have been adopted out of the system is important. There are many different reasons why a child would be in foster care and violence may be one of them.
Violence in the home leads to multiple problems; inability to sleep, regress developmentally, irritability, fearfulness, aggressiveness, withdrawn, and even over attachment. Some children can show signs of early post-traumatic stress disorder (Baldino, 2009).
