Introduction The client in this report is a twelve-year-old, male, seventh grader named, Arthur A. He was referred by his parents at the request of his teachers due to recent changes in his behavior. Arthur’s teachers have described him as having made good academic progress in the past, but recently they have noticed disorganization, lack of focus, inattentiveness, and numerous incomplete assignments. He is described as showing a lack of participation in all classes, but physical education where he participates fully. Finally, his teachers noted that he frequently seems to be tired during classes later in the day.
Arthur’s parents have described their son as recently becoming argumentative and they have noticed an increased level of conflict regarding behavior and grades. They further noted that the issue is …show more content…

The second edition WIAT increases the depth and range of subject matter of the original, adding in some new topics, and updated content to keep up with the way curriculum has changed since the original WIAT was published. The age range of the WIAT includes preschoolers, college students, and adults. This test gives some insight into Arthur’s academic achievement, however it also has its limitations. Not only did Arthur skew the results of this test by failing to complete problems or acting impulsively, but his results may be skewed one way or another depending on the past and current curriculum of the schools he has attended over the years. If the school Arthur attended were behind the average Arthur may have been unable to fully understand and complete areas of the test through no fault of his own. Arthur’s Reading scores were 75 points, 5th percentile, borderline. His Mathematics scores were 96 points, 39th percentile, average.
