Back in 2007, Walmart worked with a Richmond-based agency to change their slogan from "Always Low Prices” to “Save Money. Live Better” (Kiley, 2007). The shift moved the world’s largest employer from merely an every-day-low-prices mecca to a business focused on both saving money and improving one’s life. No longer was cheap the only goal. Starting in 2007, Walmart positioned themselves as a corporation that wants to improve the lives of the world in which they operate. Business Week reported that in addition to “Save Money. Live Better” being Walmart’s slogan, it doubles as their four-word mission statement (Kiley, 2007). The simplicity of Walmart’s slogan makes it accessible to all.
