Walt Disney Accomplishments

Walt Disney once said, “You can design and create and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality.” Walt Disney had an idea to start a cartoon mouse to save his business from going bankrupt. He didn’t know he would lots of people to make his cartoon become a reality and then create the happiest place on earth. Alan Menken and Howard Ashman became more than just Disney musicians, they were also theater actors and producers, composers for Walt Disney Animation Studios, and their work still impacts us today. Alan Menken and Howard Ashman’s first major career starter was in the theater industry and it included writing and producing plays. The first play they produced was Little Shop of Horrors based on Roger Carman. This play became the highest grossing off-Broadway show in history. It had national tours and even a movie deal.
