The Walt Disney Company, alongside its subsidiaries, is a diversified worldwide entertainment and media company founded by none other than Walter Elias Disney and his older brother Roy Oliver Disney on October 16,1923,which started off by the name Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio as a cartoon studio.“Disney” is one of the most famous names in the animation industry,known for providing entertainment for all ages; with international theme parks and a world-class animation studio and business franchise, it is one of the most valuable brands in the world. The company has operations in the USA, Canada, Europe, Asia pacific and Latin America. It is headquartered in Burbank, California and has a team of approximately 180,000 employees.

However, given that there are so many employees, it is not common to hear about worker issues or customer dissatisfaction related to the Walt Disney company 's customer service or theme parks. This is due to the fact that Walt Disney emphasizes on people orientation, they care for their employees and pay attention in creating a creative, vibrant and happy working environment for their employees to work in. In fact, surveys show that most of their employees, present and former, stated that “the working atmosphere is healthy and fun”, “good employee benefits”, “positive relationship with co-workers”, and majority of the employees surveyed recommended working in Walt Disney. The environmental complexity of the company is high as it has multiple operations in different industries which spreads throughout different regions of the world, and it may either be dynamic or stable depending on the region. This indicates that the factors affecting the company may vary in different regions. The entertainment industry is strictly regulated by laws and regulations, as in the political/legal part of the external environment. The Federal Communications Commission Laws are central to the operations of the organization as they dictate the content that is produced by Walt Disney. The content developed for the children 's movies has to strictly comply with the quality guidelines which prohibit the inclusion of any inappropriate content. Failing to do so can result in fine of up to $325,000 for each case reported of inappropriate content aired. One of the major controversies of Walt Disney is the Subliminal Messages which were supposedly included within a few films. The America Life League claimed that several movies including The Lion King,The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and The Rescuers all contained sexual hints within them, which was then denied by the company.
