A global issue today is climate change and sustainability. Many corporate companies have begun to change their environmental practices in order to combat greenhouse gas emissions. Striving to be the largest media production and entertainment company in the world, Disney chose to focus on environmental issues and sustainability in order to promote their company name. So, programs and funds were implemented to educate the public and encourage people to participate in conservation. Disney designed annual grants and has provided more than $30 million dollars for conservation efforts and worked with over 330 organizations in 115 countries. They also protect more than 400 species, including sharks, rays, coral reefs, and sea turtles (“Disney’s Conservation”). One program, the Tour de Turtles, promotes the public 's awareness of sea turtle migration and helps researchers understand their native habitat. Disney members are able to observe and support efforts during nesting season to protect the species and their natural environment (“Disney Celebrates”). When a crisis arises, Disney cooperates with the public in order to preserve their image and profits. Because Disney is a profitable company, most of their efforts including conservation and sustainability are geared toward creating a good public image. However, there is still a desire to help, protect, and serve the environment regardless of the hidden goal. Even though the company is very profitable and may use nature as a way to gain more profits through promoting its public image, it still donates money, contributes to wildlife organizations, educates the public, and protects many species around the world. Behind the Disney company is the man, Walt Disney, who founded the company believing the world to be a very dear place that should be conserved, protected, and treated with
