Grover Cleveland was one of the most mediocre presidents it would be a hard time to tell whether he was great or not. Grover Cleveland had the most veto power amongst all the presidents and had won two nonconsecutive terms in office and was the 22nd and 24th president of the US on the years 1885-1889 and 1893-1897; he was a Democrat. He was born into a low-income family, and his father died when he was sixteen. Because of this, Cleveland had to leave his college dreams and help out his family’s financial problems. He started out as a lawyer with the help of a relative and then got into politics, later serving as the Governor of New of York. Cleveland was also the first president to get married in the white house. His mindset was more towards command than leadership, and that was the downfall of Cleveland’s plans. Cleveland saw the Native Americans as wards of the nation, like wayward but promising children in need of a defender. Cleveland thought of himself as an Indian reformer.
