To start off, the book Romeo and Juliet had a lot of ups and downs for the two love birds till their death. Shakespeare created this play and the words he used had multiple meanings behind them. In every scene or most scenes, a new conflict would arise. Everything in the play was well balanced and for every conflict, there was a resolution. The real question behind this play is who were the people to actually blame for Romeo and Juliet’s death? I will tell you my opinion on who I think is at fault for their death. Beginning the first paragraph, I think the person to blame is Lord Capulet. The reason for that is because he didn’t let his daughter do things the way she wanted to, for example, the quote “ An you be not, hang, beg, starve, die in the streets..” from Act 3 Scene 5 on page 250 shows that he is forcing her to marry Paris, even though he said he would let her decide when she wanted to get married. Another reason for rejecting the proposal is because she is married to Romeo and she loves Romeo to death. During the mask party, he even told her that she can get married whenever she wants, but instead Capulet makes a marriage with Paris in four days. The quote “ Talk not to me, for I’ll not speak a word, Do as thou wilt, for I have done with thee” from Act 3 Scene 5 page 250 shows that she is being ignorant and selfish just like her husband. She is listening to what Capulet is saying, but she isn’t listening to what her daughter is saying. The Lady also doesn’t tell her husband to rethink about the idea of marriage or she doesn’t even talk when Capulet said he was going to kick Juliet out of the house. Lady Capulet relates with Lord Capulet and if she did listen to her daughter, she wouldn’t be mourning about her daughter’s
