Final Exam Sociology: Tom Horn On July 18, 1901 fourteen year old Willie Nickell was found dead. He had been shot near his family's homestead in Cheyenne Wyoming. The gunshot was located on his back his murdering being who we know as Tom Horn. Thomas Horn Jr. also known as “Tom Horn” was born November 21 of 1860 in Scotland County, MO.
“Eyes on the Prize” focused on the civil rights movement in the United States. Some events that took place are: the 1955 murder of Emmett Till, the 1955-56 Montgomery Bus Boycott, and the 1957 Little Rock Nine. The prize was freedom, peace, and equality. The prize was obtained.

Jeering the British sentinel more and more by telling the sentinel to fire at them and throwing snow balls at them. But it was when the crowd was ordered to fire that lead to fatal blows.
Tom Robinson was shot at and killed after the trial. The death of Tom Robinson is very upsetting. After escaping on his way to Abbottsville Tom was shot seventeen times. I believe that it is a sin to kill a cripple no matter what they are doing.
I am going to compare Tom and Till, for their murders and what had happen to them and the same reasons. They were both killed in the south after the civil war. They were also black. Tom was killed because they thought they he had raped they white women.

WOW! To Kill A Mockingbird has been a popular book for many years. The reason for this is it brings out a main theme which was common back then and still happens now. The theme of racism is seen in the book mainly at Tom Robinson's trial. The Ewell family represents the pride that whites had for innocent blacks.
To kill a mockingbird is to destroy innocence. Mockingbirds do not cause harm or trouble; in fact their only purpose is to convince others with beautiful music. Tom Robinson’s death can easily be compared to that of a mockingbird; it did no good but also prevented no evil. Mr. Underwood chooses to write an article that basically every citizen of Maycomb can understand, and this proves to the reader the obvious connection between Tom Robinson and the symbol of a mockingbird. Mr. Underwood chooses to ignore the prominent racial barrier that separated Tom Robinson from justice, and chooses to focus on his disability instead.
This paper will show how brutally Emmett Till was murdered. It will also attempt to explain why he was murdered as well as the impact his death had on the civil rights movement. How that impact is overlooked when the civil rights movement is brought up? Another thing being discussed is the confession made by the murders in this inhuman crime. Also the way he behaved during his kidnapping and how differently he behaved before the kidnapping in his everyday life.
During a battle, accusing a black man for a crime they did not commit is racism and using a weapon not for an abdominal thing but protecting the ones you care for. " Tomi, did you take Mayella Ewell... Tom Robinson 's manners were as good as Atticus" (Lee194-195). This quote shows Tom 's innocence of Mayella 's rape after accusing him for raping her. This also shows that Tom is innocent because if he was guilty he would have gotten defensive but he remained calm during the trial. "
