Writer’s Essay There are several writers in American history that have developed the way we read today. Some of these are Ernest Hemingway with short stories, Charles Dickens with fictional writing, and Washington Irving. Irving was a different type of contributor. Although, He was an author of many books he was a man tired of society and wanted to claim his work as his own so he became a lawyer. Washington Irving created the international copyright. Washington is the author of a book called The Sketch Book. This is a book of the first collection of short stories to Irving had created. He is not known for such an accomplishment though. He was acknowledged for the amazing work he did creating the international copyright of books. Many authors were not worried because of the basic copyright laws from the constitution. His work of Rip Van Winkle is very imaginative. The imagery he uses makes you feel as if you are standing right there in New York watching Rip through the dessert.
