First , many people have heard of the phrase “Go Green” which basically stands for recycling and reducing the amount of waste. “ Waste Not, Want Not” is an essay written by Bill Mckibben. He goes into great detail about how wasteful America really is. I couldn't help but agree with this essay because the things we do in our everyday life are slowly destroying our earth. We as Americans often get more of things than we need. Although we have gotten better with going paperless, we still have a long way to go to see a change. These things went on for so long that some think it's too late. We've been doing it this long , why change anything now.

Second, we've all had that friend or family member whose eyes were bigger than their stomach. They either got more food than they could actually eat or bought more than they actually needed. I've also seen shows that show celebrity houses and just how they live. It could be one or two people staying in a ten bedroom house. I find that completely unnecessary. This meaning instead of being mailed a bill or a receipt of a bill you are either emailed those items or you can log onto your account to view them. I find this to be very helpful. It's faster, of course, but it also decreases the amount of paper we waste. “A hundred million trees are cut every year just to satisfy the junk mail industry” explained Mckibben. In my opinion, receiving paperless bill and receipt should be mandatory, especially with our high tech generation. If someone have home internet or a smart phone than they can access these items. The only exception would be for senior citizens who chose not to do so. This would really reduce the amount of paper being wasted.
