June 17, 1972, a day once called a bigger tragedy than the American Civil war. Several burglars were caught breaking into the Democratic National Committee and stealing government documents and wire tapping phone lines. An on duty security guard notices the locks have been tampered with and calls the police, soon catching the intruders the police find thousands of dollars that link back to the Nixon reelection campaign. Investigation on Richard Nixon soon then gets carried out.

Through the article there were connections that talked about Nixon knowingly agreed to spy on the Oval Office, also like Bob Woodward mentioned the CIA investigations were procrastinated by Nixon. But the real thing that caught. In the article Bob Woodward wrote in “How Mark Felt became Deep Throat” I read it never called him a hero and rarely did I see the term whistleblower used. Mark Felt was was the perfect man to do the job, him having Soviet Spy experience helped him hide in shadows. Although some would say it was more of an eye opener, both the House and the Senate found the holes in the so called “balance of powers” ,that were once so weak, and patched them. From the article and gathered information I speculate that if anything watergate shows how weak the balance was, but that doesn’t mean it will solve the root problem.
