This is (important/interesting/relevant) because it 's explain a bit more on why christians were affected the most. Another reason is that they started not caring about fighting for jesus and just wanted to fight for no reason in the crusades. Another reason that it was negative isdestroyingbuilding and sculptures and making the two religions go even more farther apart. The first reason that many innocent died and everything was destroyed is backed up by the documents. Document 4 states that
In 1095 on November 27 in Clermont,France, Pope Urban the II called for a Crusade to help the Byzantines and free the city of Jerusalem. The official start date was set as August 15, 1096. This order little did he know would be the cause of a battle that turned into 9 war’s that last for nearly 200 years. This event in history clearly has a outcome that is way more negative than positive. Have you ever imagined being in the middle of a 200 year war people dropping like flies just because of an argument over one city?
The crusades was also a very sad and depressing time. Many people who didn 't even fight in the crusades had lost their lives because of the religion they believed in. If they were not the ones to lose their lives then they had lost someone important to them. Document 3 states that the crusades sometimes happened because christians were trying to take back their land from muslims. Some were only looking to fight for their religion but others had done it for fun.
The Crusades are several wars that went on between the Muslims and the Christians They fought for Jerusalem. Most of the wars took place in Jerusalem. Were the results of the Crusades more positive of negative? I think the results were more negative. One reason being the people that the Christians hired turned their backs on them.
1) The Albigensian Crusade is an example of one religion trying to remove the threat of another religion out of fear that one ideology would affect the other. This crusade is called to be one of the first genocides in European history for its gruesomeness and lack of humanistic behaviours. The Catholics of Northern France set up military campaigns to remove the perceived threat in Southern France. That threat to the Catholics at the time was the spread of Catharism.
Introduction: Provide background information on the Crusades, restate the DBQ question, state thesis with reasons. (include academic vocabulary and underline) The results of the Crusades was probably more negative than positive. In “Doc 4”, It states that “Moreover, the assault of one Christian people on another, when one of the goals of the Fourth Crusade was reunion of Greek and Latin churches, made the split between the Greek and Latin churches permanent.” The Crusades had a lot of hatred to the religions, and by 1204 the Crusaders had lost some of their appeal because the knights agreed to attack the Byzantine Capital instead.
Did you know that Christians in the middle ages were so dedicated to their religion that they held a children's crusade to take down the enemy that actual soldiers couldn’t defeat? That is just how dedicated people can be to their religion. I do not entirely blame them, in the middle ages religion was the one thing people can look forward to in life so it would just make sense that religious devotion, and the paradise of Heaven is what the religions were fighting for during the Crusades. The Crusades was a war between the Christians and Muslims during Europe's middle ages that is often viewed as a holy war, however some people are beginning to believe it was more about money or land. However this cannot be true because of how much people
The end of the 11th century was the beginning of the first campaign called Crusade, which was later followed by other crusades. It was a period of great fighting for the lands and religious ideologies between Christians and Muslims. In other words it was a period of big changes, when thousands of peasants and soldiers died and a lot of towns were devastated. The first crusade was the biggest movement of Christians to Holy land. In comparison with other campaigns it was the most successful.
So were the Crusades a failure? The First Crusade was the only one successful in recapturing their Holy Land from the Muslims, and it was then quickly recaptured by the Egyptians. So, to answer that question, the Crusades failed miserably at completing its original goal of recapturing Jerusalem. However, it extended the reach of Christianity, increased the wealth of the Roman Catholic Church, and brought Europe together against a common enemy. The crusaders also played a part in shaping Europe into what it has become today by expanding European territory, increasing trade, weakening serfdom,
The Crusades were expeditions done by the Roman Catholic Church in alliance with Middle-Age Kingdoms and Empires. There were a total of nine Crusades during the period of 1095 to 1291, led by Saladin, Richard I "the Lionheart" of England, Pope Urban II, Frederick I the Holy Roman Emperor, etc. At first, the Crusades were a way to fight back the Muslims for their conquest of Jerusalem. The idea of the Crusade was a very good marketing strategy by Pope Urban II. It was told that any Crusader would be rewarded a place in heaven, and forgiven their sins.
Some of the benefits a of the crusades can be a positive but mostly negative. Document five states that they were many battles between the colonies and some traded along the ways of the movement between the countries. This is relevant because even though there were some of the positive impacts, they were still other things that made it incomparable between them. Document seven,it states that the crusades were hard to maintain and often abused christians and jews.
It was a very bad war for the Christians, many Christians died which led to the loss of
The Christian View vs. The Muslim View of the Crusades The crusades were a set of different military actions that were sanctioned by the Catholic Church and the papacy. Their intention was to recapture Holy Lands they believed were rightfully theirs from the Muslim people that had invaded it. The crusades happened because of many reasons. First the Turks took over the holy lands. Then the Byzantine Emperor wanted to regain the holy land, so he called for the church 's help. Pope Urban II didn 't want to look weak, so he arranged for the first crusade. That is the cause of the crusades.
