Per the evaluations conducted by Childwatch/Capital School District, Bentley Barr’s family has been discussing the best options and we’re not sure nor agree with the current placement. We would like for Bentley to be re-evaluate for a different placement of Wesley School to a more restrictive environment placement. In request to a due process hearing, to allow the Case Manager, Early Childhood Specialist and Psychologist explain the only reason 2-day program will be provided even though it is determine in his IEP that he needed an additional day due to his evaluation results. In additional the ABAS II states within the social composite score, Bentley is as well range extremely low for interpersonal skills, social responsibility, and self-control. Finally, the practical composite score, which includes various living skills shows Bentley also scored extremely low. Therefore, putting Bentley in a 2-day program would not be beneficial to his overall needs. As it determines he development delay based on the ABAS II score, allowing Bentley to not receive a more restrictive setting will hinder his ability to begin early intervention strategies.
