This semester was filled with many bumpy roads. I struggled in the beginning of the semester with my writings , as I didn 't feel confident enough to write a well developed writing. I seemed to find myself struggling whereas writing was not my favorable subject. The major errors I had in my writings this semester would be , grammatical errors,work citations, transition words, formatting ,paragraph development, sentence structure , and sentence level issue. In my writing at first I with many part of sentence structure and grammar. Trying to not mess up in structure I was unable convey my ideas. Over the course of the semester it has became easier by every essay. My improvement was some not severely, but learning the basic again will help me for all class and other English courses. Writing process is difficult to realize since it requires a lot of skills and knowledge. Definitely, not many of us can start writhing right away without having any problems such as grammar, vocabulary or organization. However, a person can become a better writer if he or she will practice writing every day and will pay attention to his writing problems. My Writing Struggles After taking AP English III, I became better at organizing my papers, but realizing I need to improve my grammar skills and staying focused on my supporting points. All throughout my writing career, I was always thought to be an outstanding writer, especially using vocabulary above my grade range. Naturally, I would see myself as an excellent writer as well until I took Mrs. Bingham’s AP English II course. Mrs. Bingham always gave pointers, tips, and work to improve my class’s writing skills as a whole.
My sentences still read very choppy although they are much better than when I started this class. This can be ironed out of my writing by spending more time proofreading my papers. The sentence fluency I think will come the more I write, even by my last paper I feel it has improved drastically compared to my first paper. I think I could have been even more successful in this class if I had spent more time out of class proofreading and using my time better while I was in class. I feel that I have grown more than I originally planned on because this class involved us more in the first quarter.
College was always one of my long term goals as I continued with my education. Throughout the years I began to work harder and harder so I could secure my future. I knew that getting to college would not be easy. I am about to embark on a four year journey in one of the hardest fields to pursue. I will continue my education as a Nursing major at a four year university.
