Out of the five learning strategies for American Sign Language, I think strategy number two would be the most beneficial to me for learning ASL over the course of the semester. The strategy is to minimize reliance on English as you listen or converse in ASL. It emphasizes how we are not supposed to take notes during class, and describes how individuals need to focus more on the interactions in class. I typically take a lot of notes during my classes, so I really want to focus on the language by actually interacting with the teacher and my peers.
