Peaceful resistance to laws? Does it work? Is it sensible? I suspect that is sensible, but it doesn’t necessarily always work. There has been many protest since the American Revolutionary War, 1755, to the Women’s March on Washington, 2017. Since then, there have been multiple protest and misfortunes, but not every protest has worked. I suspect that the protest doesn’t really work, even if they are positive or negative, but once upon a time, it did. What about our free society? If our society was really free, people wouldn’t worry about being judged. Everyone would live the way they choose to live and not how others want them to. Our voices would be heard, and not silenced. The tension between the colonist turned to passionate protest after the British government began to tax them. By 1776, the revolutionary war was blooming. On the 4th of July, the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Congress. The Declaration of Independence was drafted mainly by Thomas Jefferson. The 13 American colonies gained their independence after the adoption of the Declaration. This is one of few times that a protest has worked. This protest was obviously negative, but in the end the colonist got what they wished for. Every protest, whether it’s negative or positive, either works or doesn’t. Sometimes they do, but since the 2000’s have approached, protests have really been ignored, but not by the media. The media plays a big part in protest, but they only exaggerate the protest, not help
