Science and religion are considered many times as opposite sides. However, science fiction works and religion are often overlapping. People who use science to create lives are seen as God while the result of their experimentation represents the evil and vicious. The characters in Blade Runner, Frankenstein and Brave New World represent these religious figures of God and Satan as well as the story of Genesis. As a result, citizens in the World State use Ford the way we use God. For example, they say ‘’Oh Ford’’ or ‘’ Oh, for Ford’s sake’’ (Huxley 164). Also, the word Sunday is substituted with Ford’s Day. The substitute of the words and phrases suggests that religion has been replaced by respect for technology. Therefore, Ford is part of almost every aspect of citizens in the World State lives. They respecting Ford because technology is the most important part of their society and Ford is the one who started the mechanized factory production.
