This year has been incredibly eye opening to me. Through the Inductive study method, I have learned how to accurately interpret scripture and mark verses accordingly to assist me in the process. By marking scripture, I can discover, for myself, all of the fine details I would have never noticed in scripture before.
My favorite book that my class studied was Jonah. In the beginning of the year, when I was told that the sophomores were going through Jonah, I laughed to myself. I wondered why on earth would we go through Jonah. What “church kid” does not know what happened to Jonah? But, after getting more in depth with scripture, I realized that I was that “church kid” who did not know about Jonah! I began to see all the fine details I had missed

It says “So they went on their way from the presence of the Council, rejoicing that they had been considered worthy to suffer shame for His name.” The apostles were beaten and were commanded by the council to not speak out about the Lord’s name, but they did anyway. In fact, they rejoiced because they were beaten for preaching about God. In the verses after, it says that the apostles NEVER stopped witnessing. They did not care what was going to happen to them, as long as they were pleasing their Savior then nothing else mattered. I want to have that same “ be reckless for Jesus” attitude.
Acts 4:12 “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name given under heaven by which we must be saved.” To me, this verse speaks volumes. It clearly states that not a single person can grant you salvation except God. Now, there are many people who try to claim that there are other ways to go to Heaven but that is false. I find it interesting how nowadays everyone is always trying to look for happiness and for something or someone to fulfill them in life. No one in this whole wide world will ever be truly happy until they repent and accept God as their
