Recommended: Meaning of freedom
Freedom is the power that allows people to self-determine his or her ideas, it allows people to have the right to act, speak or think without being restraint. The reality of freedom is how individuals see their freedom; for instance, Dr. King got locked in jail for describing his freedom, but others define his freedom differently. Individuals choices, how they want to establish their freedom. One’s person freedom could be someone’s prison. Although people defined that freedom is having unrestricted rights, but limitation create true freedom since it spreads equality to everyone.
Freedom in this case is the legal drug such as how we are capable of expression our ideas but we don’t because of trigger warnings. Our freedom of speech is becoming so limited that sooner or later we aren’t going to have that right anymore. Rosenblatt makes the point that we shouldn’t limit our minds to only the topics we want but expand on new ideas whether or not if makes us unconformable or others. She states ‘The mind expands, the mind settles, then is shaken up, resists, and expands again.
“When a man is denied the right to live the life he believes in he has no choice but to become an outlaw.” Freedom means different things to different people. For some people, it means you have the freedom to go for a walk without getting the police called on you. For some it may mean practicing the religion they choose, or where they work or live. A historical well-known example of freedom is when Rosa Parks sat in front of the bus she was asked to go to the back she refused to.
Freedom is a type of living that everyone in the world would appreciate having. Some people live in a communist country or a country where freedom do not exist and everything is controlled by the government. With many rules and regulations proposed by the government, people feel that it takes away from their freedoms. Nonetheless, America was established upon freedom, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. People want to live this way along with protection from danger.
Freedom is he ability to be yourself at any given time, and any given
Freedom is the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint. The foundation of America is freedom. Freedom from Britain. However, the freedom is limited to white males who own property. When colonists started to immigrate to America, they wanted to escape from under the rule of Britain.
Freedom I believe once freedom has been won, it can be taken away. If you are being bad or not following the rules, than you should not have the rights to do what you want. Freedom has been given to you for a reason, and you need to use it for that reason. I believe it should be taken away because sometimes freedom shouldn’t always be “free.” You should be limited on what you get to do.
Freedom is the ability to do whatever one wants without restraint. Many people in our country take freedom for granted, while many suffer from the lack of freedom in other countries. Freedom is when you choose all of your actions, which is what was meant for everyone. Making choices of your own is how you learn and grow. When you are in a position without freedom, somebody withholds it.
The first thing you must know about freedom is that freedom is not one thing, but rather a topic that can be further broken down. Freedom has been broken down by many different people over time, but Berlin’s work off of the foundations of Kant represent the majority of other analyses. Kant thought of freedom not as a topic but a concept. The thing about his definition as a concept is that each question of freedom is also a question of “what should I do”. Berlin says there are two forms of freedom, positive freedom, and negative freedom.
Freedom means to be able to say what you feel is correct and not be stopped from speaking something that is true. Freedom is being able to pick a leader for your country who you feel is right and will do what is right for you and for all of us. It also means to be able to live the same as everyone else, freely, no matter the color or your race we are all equal. Freedom is not something that should be taken advantage of, using a gun is alright for protection, but when it's used for the wrong actions it is not correct. You have to respect all that is given to you and use what you have for good and not evil.
For every era, people have lived with happiness or have struggled to continue living. In this modern world, people living a fair life are ignorant to how brutal others are living. Living in their environment, they have no food or water, barely fighting to survive and aspire to live a decent life. Although the goal for every society is freedom, is it attainable? People can speak of economic freedom, but words have no meaning if there are no actions to establish that transformation.
We are all different, so the term “freedom” means something different to all of us living in America. To me, freedom means being able to express things I love in my own way. So many people have died in wars for our freedom and we just look over the facts. We only seem to care about ourseleves instead of everyone
The English Oxford dictionary defines freedom as “The power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants.” This definition is partially true while these are the qualities of freedom, we can only have these rights as long as we don’t interfere with another's freedom. So, what isn’t freedom? A quote from a journalist of the Daily Beast, P.J. O’Rourke, answers this pretty well.
The main idea of freedom is to be respectful and helpful to the community. Freedom is not endless. Freedom should be limited in some circumstances for the benefits of the community. You can't just do whatever you want just saying that “I have freedom.” We can’t kill people, do things illegally.
Freedom is to be respectful. People should get to do what they want freely. The western civilization guaranteed freedom for it is own people, and occupied poor nations and deprived their people from their rights, including freedom. Say for instance, if someone goes to prison, they no longer have freedom even when they’re out of prison. So they have no right to live a free healthy life depending on how long they’re in prison.
