Freedom, to me, is being in control of yourself without having anyone else rule over you. It is having the option to make your own decisions. In the movie, William Wallace leads a whole entire army on the belief that once they defeat the Longshanks, they will finally have true freedom. When they beat the British army, the Scottish were free and no longer required to follow the British’s rules. Even though my freedom mostly consists of Mom giving me a later curfew, my definition of freedom is similar to the Scottish.
“When a man is denied the right to live the life he believes in he has no choice but to become an outlaw.” Freedom means different things to different people. For some people, it means you have the freedom to go for a walk without getting the police called on you. For some it may mean practicing the religion they choose, or where they work or live. A historical well-known example of freedom is when Rosa Parks sat in front of the bus she was asked to go to the back she refused to.
In my opinion, freedom is the ability to do something however you want without the feeling of restraint or restriction. We as individuals, constitute our own freedom, because everyone's definition is completely different from one another. An example of my definition being able to say whatever you want at a Trump rally and not get jumped by a horde or people. According from my perspective of Fahrenheit 451, MIldred’s definition of freedom is basically escaping reality, She believes that the outside world is sort of worthless and has nothing to do with what she really cares about, which is her earbuds and tv walls.
Theocracy is a form of government that was used during the biblical days. During the theses times, the priest were the ruler of the lands, they were appointed the king, and they were governed under the name of God. The book of Samuel describes how Saul was appointed king. According to the text, God himself selected Israel’s first king, through strange circumstances God brought Saul to Samuel’s house, and this is where Samuel announced that God has designated him as Israel’s first king” (Varughese, A., 2003, p.161-162). There is a major difference between how the government is handled on present time and the biblical days.
Ricky kurihara Veterans day What does freedom mean to you? For me it means being able to live my life without being attacked. Veterans are very brave people that fought for our flag and our freedom. Freedom means being free and being able to do certain things like going to the store to get things that I want and being able to do things outside without a big war.
What does it mean to be free? I think to be free means to be able to live life in the greatest way possible. One should have enough freedom. But have limits on freedom in certain cases, for example if one person uses their freedom to harm others. There are three acknowledged topics of freedom people want all over the world; Freedom to have an education, Freedom from discrimination, and the freedom of equality.
Freedom is the ability to do whatever one wants without restraint. Many people in our country take freedom for granted, while many suffer from the lack of freedom in other countries. Freedom is when you choose all of your actions, which is what was meant for everyone. Making choices of your own is how you learn and grow. When you are in a position without freedom, somebody withholds it.
Freedom to me means I can worship whatever I want without worrying if I will get punished. Freedom to me means that I can be friends with whoever I want. Freedom to me means I can do what I want without being punished for someone else’s beliefs. In the dictionary the definition of freedom is “The power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint.” Freedom should not be given to some and not others.
What does freedom mean to me? To me freedom means kids running around in the playground, playing with their imaginations, doing whatever they please. Also, to me it relates to Alexis de Tocqueville's Democracy in America. How he says that democracy in America was a start to becoming successful country. Freedom is all the rights that we have.
A. Freedom is the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint. B. Absence of subjection to foreign domination or despotic government. C. The state of not being imprisoned.
American soldiers fought to preserve freedom in Europe, one hundred sixteen thousand five hundred and sixteen Americans died in that war alone. (31) In World War II, two hundred ninety two thousand, one hundred and thirty one soldiers died to keep Europe, and Pacific Ocean countries out of the control of dictators. (26) I think freedom means trying to live the way that the millions of soldiers, militiamen, and draftees who have died would want us to: peacefully, harmoniously, but not without some of the hardships of life which make us who we are.
What Freedom Means To Me The real definition of Freedom is the state of being free, or at liberty, rather than in confinement or under physical restraint. But a definition means almost nothing. It’s that we have it that counts. I think freedom is much more than what the definition says.
What is freedom? Is it an absolute right or is it something we can live without it? People born to be free. Throughout history freedom defined differently according to different cultures and different period of time. Freedom shows an alteration cultures to culture.
Being Free 1st draft Freedom is word used in a lot of contexts, but the official meaning of the word is “the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants” (Freedom). Meaning that you have the right to do something, with the focus being on you as an individual. This means no one can tell you what to do, like for example a state. This is an important aspect and part of political theory. Liberty is also used and viewed as the same category of theory, and has the definition “The state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one’s behavior or political views” (Liberty).
Freedom means the power or right to act, speak, or think without restraint, and the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved. Freedom is the correction to do what he/she wants, live life, and eat what he/she wants. How do we live free? We live free by not judging other people’s freedom rights. Everyone has their own rights.
