Lord of the Flies was writer by William Golding and was published in 1954 by Faber and Faber it is 248 pages and is a fiction book. It takes place on some deserted island in the tropics where Ralph, Piggy, Jack, Simon, Roger, Sam and Eric the twins , Littluns the littler boys (Maurice, Robert, Percival Wemys Madison, Johnny Henry) get stranded because their pilot crashed the plane and no adults survive the crash. British school boys are on a plane the author never comes out and says where there going and why but you can infer that they are leaving their homes because of the war taking place, one of the boys Piggy says “ Didn’t you hear what the pilot said? About the atom bomb? They’re all dead” as they were flying something
