Symbolism is found in all types of literature and is widespread in the Potter books though three instances are significantly more prominent than all others. One would be in the case of the silver doe that Harry sees whenever he seems to run into trouble which we later discover was Snape – always there when he needed him. Another would be King’s Crossing. Throughout the series it serves as a divider between the mortal world and the wizarding world where wizards board the train on platform 9 ¾.
