WT Notebook Journal 2 During the period of the Early Empire, Roman expansion and change marked the end of the Roman Republic. Growth changed the ideal of the republic and new problems surfaced within Rome itself. Increase power in the Senate which led to a less democratic society and increase military power for the Greeks as well as civil wars between Rome and the provinces were some of the political changes that were prompted by Roman expansion. Socio-economical changes like high taxes due to the wars and movement towards cities, increase unemployment, and income disparity caused by the dispute between patricians and the plebeian were promoted by Roman expansion.
Rome was the center of one of the world's greatest empires. It began as an unremarkable settlement. Rome had become powerful by conquering territory. But Rome soon discovered that size has its problems. Controlling an expanded empire, meant a need for more food, clothing, weapons and supplies.
Armies began growing impacting the control over the Italian peninsula; launching three wars against Carthage. For example, the Punic wars were taken place to dominate the western Mediterranean. Rome Impact On Today's U.S. There are many reasons on why Rome or Greece is better than the other in the categories of math, technology and even the military, But that's not the point I’m trying to get across I'm writing about how much of an impact these countries have made in modern day, here are my reasons why Rome has overcome that aspect. The Roman empire was one of the most powerful to ever exist and influenced all of Europe with their designs and battle strategies, even today Their impact is evident. The Romans changed European first century warfare forever with their superior army and tactics. The Romans were powerful due to the sheer number of soldiers they possessed, the equipment given to each soldier, and the training each member received to prepare for battle. Of course the Romans had innovations of their own but it was not above them to borrow techniques and styles from other cultures, like the Greeks for instance. All cities were close to water bodies while Rome was an inland nation and arranged on the banks of River Tiber. Talking about art of Greece and Rome, Greeks were thought to be better than that of Romans. One of the sculptures that Greece is known with is Venus de Milo. Romans were great at mosaic, wall painting and they were also known for creating realistic portraits.
