However, the fact is that most Americans have the impression that Hispanic immigrants are perceived as a threat for not assimilating into the American mainstream, more so into the Anglo-Protestant values. Immigration, a topic people have countless differences on. So many are for it: so many are against it. If researched, it does not seem immigrants a great of an effect on America. Many Americans are unemployed simply because immigrants take jobs. Turn on the television, and one hears about is higher crime rates.
New Americans come to the United States to experience the land of opportunity and hopefully live a better life than in their homeland. Immigrants come here for something known as the “five freedoms” (“Destination America”). They want to be able to choose how to live and not be punished in the process.
