Why Do Immigrants Come To America?

New Americans come to the United States to experience the land of opportunity and hopefully live a better life than in their homeland. Immigrants come here for something known as the “five freedoms” (“Destination America”). These freedoms consist of the freedom to worship, freedom from oppression, freedom from want, freedom from fear and freedom to create. They want to be able to choose how to live and not be punished in the process.
Those are the main reasons immigrants choose willingly to come to the United States. Another main group of “New Americans,” are called refugees. Refugees are different from immigrants because refugees leave their country out of fear and danger for their life. They are unwilling or unable to stay in their country
