Benton classifies his college students in a whole new perspective by dividing his students into groups pertaining to the 7 deadly sins. Thomas creates a sense of separation via indulgences: things we shouldn't do, but we do anyway because they ultimately bring us pleasure. Each of Thomas' categories focuses on different sins, pride, envy, gluttony, greed, anger, sloth, and lust.

Greed, lust, gluttony, sloth, wrath, envy, and pride. Ever since the Middle Ages the Roman Catholic Church has portrayed flaws within humanity as the seven deadly sins. While this concept isn’t new, sins represent how evil can come in many different forms. True evil comes from within and is defined by an action committed with disregard for other living beings; or in other words self-interest. Self-interest is something all humans are born with and often synonymous to the seven deadly sins.
Relationships have always been complicated, and the conflict heightens when immortality, homosexual desires and eternal damnation are added to the mix. In the story of Louis and Lestat, two vampires as difference as night and day, all of these dynamics are prevalent. In Anne Rice’s book Interview With The Vampire, vampirism is an allegory for sexual deviance, and is a lifestyle that gives Louis, the protagonist, experience first hand with several theological motifs, including the seven deadly sins, creationism, and light versus dark. The seven deadly sins are as follows:
Of the “Seven Deadly Sins”, the vice of envy is the desire for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation. Envy provides man the opportunity to get ahead in society by taking what someone else has. In The Confessions, Saint Augustine examines how a “notorious sinner” (Saint Augustine) is enticed by the desire to prosper and have a perception of high value among others. But does this desire to prosper attract them further into a life where you desire what you don’t have? By looking at the work of Saint Augustine and scriptures from Matthew we understand that with a desire to prosper it is possible to be “sucked into sin as if by a drug” (Saint Augustine).
"The Seven Deadly Sins" can be traced back to the 4th century when a monk named Evagrius Ponticus generated a list of sins, likely stemming from problems he saw in his own day. All the sins have different definitions but they all lead to the same thing: unhappiness and destruction. I choose to talk about Greed. Greed is closely related to envy, and the two are usually found together. So honestly, you could have
In 1589, Peter Binsfeld paired each of the deadly sins with a demon, who tempted people by means of the associated sin. According to Binsfeld 's classification of demons, the pairings are as follows: • Lucifer: pride (superbia) • Mammon: greed (avaritia) • Asmodeus: lust (luxuria) • Leviathan: envy (invidia) • Beelzebub: gluttony (gula or gullia) • Amon or Satan: wrath (ira) • Belphegor: sloth (acedia) This contrasts slightly with an earlier series of pairings found in the fifteenth century English Lollard tract Lanterne of Light, which differs in pairing Beelzebub with Envy, Abadon with Sloth, Belphegor with Gluttony and matching Lucifer with Pride, Satan with Wrath, Asmodeus with Lust and Mammon with Avarice. In Doctor Faustus, there is a "parade" of the seven deadly sins that is conducted by Mephistopheles, Satan, and Beelzebub suggesting that the demons do not match with each deadly sin, but the demons are in command of the seven deadly sins.

Dante’s Inferno details the long journey of Dante and Virgil, throughout the bowels of Hell, or the Inferno. Dante’s Inferno is organized into nine different levels, each distributing a different and awful punishment to every different sin. The main sins include the seven deadly sins, “Wrath, Sloth, Lust, Greed, Pride, Gluttony, Envy”, he also included “Treachery” and “Violence”. The three sins that I believe fit their sins would be “Wrath/Sulleness”, “Greed” and “Gluttony”.
Augustine’s conception of the sin in The Confessions is vastly different from today’s version of sin. In the modern world, Christian sin is mainly focused on the seven deadliest whereas Saint Augustine added more onto this list. The book mainly explores St. Augustine’s struggle for celibacy and converting himself to Christianity. Augustine also created a concept he termed as original sin. Original sin states that sin is inherently within all of us, we are all born evil and thus have to fight to be good.
There is just one thing that separates you from God. That one thing is sin. The Bible describes sin in many ways. Most simply, sin is our failure to measure up to God’s holiness and His righteous standards. We sin by things we do, choices we make, attitudes we show, and thoughts we entertain.
